New York Public Radio Gala:
The 2025 New York Public Radio Gala was held on November 18 at The Glasshouse. The gala’s Stand With Public Media theme captured the spirit and energy of the 600 guests in attendance. The celebration honored Ford Foundation’s Darren Walker with the Philanthropy Leadership Award; New Yorker editor and New Yorker Radio Hour host David Remnick with the Media Innovation Award; and Late Show with Stephen Colbert host Stephen Colbert, and arts advocate and producer, Evelyn McGee Colbert with the Cultural Advocacy Award. Actor Richard Kind served as host, with special appearances by Mikhail Baryshnikov and Noah Galvin, as well as performances by Jon Batiste, Conrad Tao, Ana Gasteyer, and Ben Platt. The night concluded with an afterparty featuring classic NYC eats and a set by DJ Questlove.

Our reach has grown to 26 million monthly listeners and counting. Our home on Varick Street now houses WNYC, WQXR, and The Greene Space, our pioneering live performance venue. And WNYC Studios, our innovative content laboratory, is one of the nation’s top podcast producers, lifting up the most urgent and inspiring stories from around the city and the world. Nearly a century after that first broadcast, New York Public Radio remains the voice of New York. We’ve built a legacy of rigorous journalism, illuminating conversation and extraordinary music—all for the public good. As a listener-supported public media company, this legacy is fueled by the generosity of dedicated supporters like you. And our future will be too.
