Weekly installments to air every Friday in April on WNYC, beginning today

NEW YORK, NY — April 3, 2026 – In honor of National Poetry Month, actor and author Nick Offerman hosts “A Wonder Is What It Is,” an audio series from WNYC’s All Of It with Alison Stewart dedicated to poet, activist, author, and Offerman’s personal hero: Wendell Berry. In four short installments, released every Friday throughout April, Offerman will read a poem by Berry – poet, farmer, and environmental activist – and share his reflections.
Offerman first pitched the idea of a poetry series to the All Of It team following a fall 2025 appearance on the show to discuss his latest book, Little Woodchucks: Offerman Woodshop’s Guide to Tools and Tomfoolery. Offerman then asked Berry’s family to suggest poems, and invited friends to contribute music and art that capture Berry’s enduring reverence for the natural world. With selections that blend humor, personal stories, and deep respect for the outdoors, the result is a multi-layered sonic tribute to Berry and his ideals.
“A Wonder Is What It Is” segments will air every Friday in April in the 1pm hour ET as part of All Of It with Alison Stewart on 93.9 FM and AM 820 to listeners in New York, and at WNYC.org. All segments will be available for on-demand listening.
Music for the series was composed by Mark Greenberg at The Mayfair Workshop. Art for the series is by Greg Ruth.
