WNYC’s All Of It Announces the Spring Line Up of “BROADWAY ON THE RADIO”

Monthly series features the cast and creative teams of current Broadway productions, broadcast live in front of a studio audience from WNYC’s The Greene Space
This season, host Alison Stewart welcomes Chess, RAGTIME, and CATS: The Jellicle Ball
NEW YORK, NY — March 16, 2026 WNYC’s All Of It, the weekday arts and culture conversation show, announced the Spring lineup of its Broadway on the Radio series, bringing the best of Broadway to live audiences in WNYC’s The Greene Space and on air at WNYC.
This Spring, All Of It welcomes cast and creative team members from three of this season’s most celebrated musical revivals: Chess, RAGTIME, and CATS: The Jellicle Ball. During each segment, host Alison Stewart will lead conversations about bringing these productions to the stage, and cast members will perform songs from the shows.
All Broadway on the Radio segments begin at 12 noon and run for one hour. Tickets are available at wnyc.org/events.

Thursday, March 19: CHESS
Tony Award® winner Aaron Tveit (Moulin Rouge!), acclaimed stage and screen star Lea Michele (Funny Girl, Glee), and breakout talent Nicholas Christopher (Sweeney Todd, Hamilton) star in this seductive showdown of love, loyalty, and power. As two of the greatest chess players in the world compete for something beyond victory, the woman between them faces a high-stakes battle of desire and devotion.

Friday, April 17: RAGTIME
RAGTIME is a musical adaptation of E.L. Doctorow’s novel, following three fictional families in pursuit of the American Dream at the dawn of the 20th Century: Black pianist Coalhouse Walker, Jr. and his beloved Sarah, Jewish immigrant Tateh and his little girl, and a wealthy white family led by matriarch Mother. All grasping for the same dream, if only they can hold on to it. Featuring a score by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens, a book by Terrence McNally and original orchestrations by William David Brohn, all of whom won Tony Awards for their work, RAGTIME weaves fictional narratives with real historical figures and events, creating a rich tapestry that blurs the line between personal struggle and national identity, making history feel both intimate and epic.

Thursday, May 21: CATS: THE JELLICLE BALL
Based on T.S. Eliot’s Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s worldwide phenomenon CATS is reimagined as CATS: The Jellicle Ball, featuring glittering spectacle, iconic music and electrifying ballroom choreography that The New York Times has called “a lightning strike that sets joy free!”

Broadway on the Radio is presented in front of live audiences in The Greene Space at WNYC as part of the regular weekday live broadcast of All of It. The performances also air live on WNYC 93.9 FM and AM 820, and are available to stream live and on-demand at www.wnyc.org.
Past segments of Broadway on the Radio featured the casts of Hadestown, Buena Vista Social Club, and Hell’s Kitchen.
