WNYC and The Moth Present “Only in New York”
An evening of live storytelling and musical performances
Hosted by WNYC’s Alison Stewart
Friday, March 14 at 7:30pm at NYU Skirball

(February 3, 2025) – WNYC and The Moth today announced “ONLY IN NY,” a special Moth Mainstage of storytelling in celebration of WNYC’s Centennial. The performance will take place on Friday March 14, 2025 at 7:30pm at NYU Skirball. Tickets are available now here.
This special Mainstage will be New York to the core. The theme, “ONLY IN NY,” will feature five New Yorkers, each sharing a personal story representing the five boroughs of the city. Tying it all together is first-time Moth host, WNYC’s Alison Stewart whose signature weekday show, All Of It, is offering listeners a chance to potentially be one of the storytellers.
“ONLY IN NY” is presented as part of WNYC’s year-long Centennial celebration, which kicked off on July 8, 2024. In addition to live storytelling, the event will include highlights from the WNYC historic archives, memorabilia from past storytelling events by the Moth, and musical moments and sounds of the city. The evening promises to be a heartfelt tribute to a century of telling New York stories on the airwaves, a night of community and camaraderie for WNYC fans, and a celebration of storytelling in all its forms.
The Moth is a NYC fixture, presenting live storytelling events throughout the city since 1997. Its Peabody Award-winning The Moth Radio Hour is heard on public radio stations nationwide, including WNYC. The stories from “ONLY IN NY” will be recorded for a special episode of The Moth Radio Hour, premiering on public radio stations nationwide on April 1, 2025.
“I’m excited to celebrate WNYC’s 100 years on the air with this special night of ‘Only In NY’ storytelling with our friends at The Moth,” said Alison Stewart. “I talk to New Yorkers every day on All Of It, and they’re the kind of people who always have a good story to share. The good, the bad, the one of a kind – these stories and the people who tell them make New York such a singular place.”
“Our stories are what bring us together, and remind us we have more in common than we know,” said Christina Norman, Chief Creative Officer of The Moth, “It’s a joy to celebrate the connections which build community, especially with our long time partners at WNYC.”
